Mr. Fransua Thomas, is a Materials Engineer at the NASA Glenn Research Center. Mr. Thomas has the pleasure of being able to work on a multitude of projects ranging from failure analysis of mechanisms, building an Autonomously Navigated paraGliding Experimental Lander/Gondola, to testing potential Astronaut resistance equipment for use on-board the ISS and developing techniques to excavate or dig on thqe moon. Mr. Thomas is not only a successful research engineer, he is also a very involved leader in the community promoting science and engineering to young individuals. His passion for community engagement has led to Mr. Thomas receiving the Black Engineer of the Year Award in Government Service.

Mr. Thomas has a vast range of volunteer experience from assistant chair at the First Robotics Buckeye Regional Competition to First Lego League Robotics coach at Olivet Missionary Institutional Baptist Church to judging science fairs at various schools and mentoring a multitude of individuals though many NASA programs.

Mr. Thomas worked with several colleagues to develop a new community service program called Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics STEAM-U-Lating Fitness©, which is aimed at improving children’s fitness and nutritional practices to help reduce obesity and diabetes. STEAM-U-Lating Fitness combines the importance of exercising and nutrition with subjects such as math, science, robotics and fitness.

Notably, Mr. Thomas has deep passion for helping and uplifting the youth especially in the areas of STEM. Mr. Thomas along Brandon and Charles formed FBC Technical Solutions, LLC with the aim of actively providing opportunities and access to STEM content and resources throughout the nation.
